You Make Me Say

It’s the glow of your skin
The story behind your grin
The softness in your voice
The way you craft a noise

It’s the smell of your hair
The bouncy streaks of gray
The way you shine then snort
Oh, those funny lines you blurt

It’s the way I brawl and lose
The powerlessness I choose
Your bizarre words and moves
That make me smile and say...

You win

Pasión

Passion is a beautiful corruption
Soul is in constant, fervent motion
Destined to transcend creation

Passion is the soul’s persuasion
Heart is in a rhythmic palpitation
Beckons a nirvana of emotion

Passion is a prized possession
Thought is the mother of action
Puts depth and purpose to expression

A Letter to My Love

Everything I see is a reflection of Your smile
All the hums I hear are echoes of Your psalms

Your calm breath is warmth in wintry times
Mere words cannot speak the beauty of Your love

Of Your love, oh, God

The Wish

I want to be a soft smile on your face
God's reward to you after the long race
Make you happy in so many different ways

I want to be the smack on your lips
The tune you hear when an angel sings
Touch you so deeply that you’ll have wings

I want to be the one you’re wishing for
Everything you’ve wanted and even more
Keep you in my heart till, in heaven, we soar

The Duet

My unspoken words will be the lyrics
The silence will reveal my feelings

You’re not even aware of it
But together we are composing
A romantic musical hit

 Yes, together we are composing
The secret lovers hymn

Apples

The sap of freshness
Between eager, moisten lips
A devious treat

The Bookshelf

The mass of wisdom
Feels light on its burnt shoulders
Splits wits and muscles

Crown of Love

Thorns for the forlorn
Rust of trust for the monarch
Who smiths gold from loam

Provisions of a Lady

Say my name
Without voicing a word
Play a game
Without picking a sword
Embed a chain
Without soldering a chord
Seize the blame
Of the crime
I have long adored

Speak to Me with Beautiful Words

Leave me with jaws wide open.
Make my arrogant heart skip a beat.
Induce me to let go of my unrelenting thoughts.
Talk to my dormant senses.
Show me how splendid life is.

Persuade me by the way your eyes dazzle
brows turn, lips move, and tone lingers.

Invite me in your world. Involve me in mine.
Sway me to adore you without swaying at all.
Speak not only to me but to my barren soul.
Let your beautiful words put life
to mere language and prose.

Pendulum

I first met Ben when I was a foolhardy tad
My legs were grown but spirit was blank
Ben sheltered me like I was frog to a pond
My delight tilted, sang, croaked, then sank

I said tic tac think tank…
I asked, will Ben come back?

I met Ben again after enduring a quicksand
My chest was weedy but body firm as rock
Ben coaxed me like Mozart would or a band
My senses tingled, elated, upward, then back

I said tic tac think tank…
I wondered, will Ben come back?

I met Ben, persistent, again to enter my land
My regal tiara was lovely but warmth I lack
Ben hummed tenderly like magic from a wand
My soul desired, groaned, resigned to a smack

I said tic tac think tank…
I hankered, will Ben, for more, come back?

I met Ben, silvered by hope and stain, oh and
My gown grand, no longer do I croak or chuck
Ben, my Ben, as I submit to gravity’s command
Seconds away, Ben, please, stop not to knock

I say tic tac think tank…
I answered, Ben, oh Ben…
We will have each other at the strike of 12 o clock

Of Friends and Fables

The night sky was in its usual shade
Except that the stars were on a parade
Like giggling trinkets and lofty jades
They dyed the blue into a vivid wave

Warmth plunged onto an icy palm
The stars mollified an inner qualm
Like a reply to an unsung psalm
They’re far-flung, so how come

Eyes untied to view the expanse
Saw nothing alike the tiny suns
Like lids ajar like down in the dumps
Look within, pounded the drums

The hued quilt of the starry night
Glazed in gold was beyond sight
Like cordless kite like blinding light
Space is immaterial to true might
